How to Use MyMathLab to Get Better Grades on My Tests?

I’m a math major and want to get better grades on my tests. But I don’t know where to start!

MyMathLab is an algorithmic learning system that keeps track of what you’ve learned and what you still need to learn. It’s an excellent resource for studying but can be confusing if you don’t understand how it works.

How can I avoid getting locked out of MyMathLab?

The best way to avoid this is to always use a reliable internet connection. If you’re using a slow connection, your test may be delayed or even not show up at all. It’s also best to take the test in a browser that has no pop-ups or cookies (e.g., Chrome).

If you’re using a slower browser, you should run the MyMathLab web browser check every few weeks to keep it up-to-date and working properly. This will allow you to access MyMathLab with the least amount of disruption possible.

I am having problems logging into MyMathLab and I’m getting a message that says “Sorry, the email address you entered isn’t valid.” What should I do?

First, make sure that you’re using the same email address that you used for Clark College course registration. If you use a different email address, you won’t be able to access your Study Plan or your quizzes. If you can’t remember which email address you used for Clark College, contact the KU Information Technology Help Desk to verify that you’re using the correct one.

When you register for MyMathLab, make sure that you use the SAME NAME that you used for Clark College class registration so that your rosters align. If you don’t, you will lose your progress in the Study Plan and all of your quizzes.

Some students find it helpful to work on their homework problems in MyMathLab a day or two before the due date. This gives them time to study the content and prepare for their tests.

There are many on-line help resources within MyMathLab. These include the “Help Me Solve This,” “View an Example,” and “Textbook” buttons. If you need more individualized help, try to find another student who is taking the same class as you to discuss the problem together.

In addition to the in-line help, MyMathLab has a variety of lecture videos that are available in the e-textbook section of MyMathLab. Some people find these useful, but others don’t. Some prefer other sources of math tutorial videos, such as those found in the KU Library.
