MyLab IT Answers and Help
MyLab IT is the Pearson platform where Microsoft Office skills are graded by software. A project can look perfect on screen and still lose points, because the grader checks how the file was built and saved. This page covers how Grader projects and simulations work, the mistakes that cost the most points, and how we help.
Quick Answer
Yes, we help with MyLab IT. MyLab IT (formerly MyITLab) is Pearson’s platform for Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint, used in business, MIS and computer literacy courses. We complete Grader projects and simulations, and we fix submissions that already failed. A/B grade guaranteed or your money back.

What Is MyLab IT?
MyLab IT is Pearson’s platform for learning Microsoft Office skills. Per Pearson, students complete Grader projects live in Microsoft 365 applications, and the simulations are cloud-based, HTML5 practice environments. Courses that use it include business, MIS, healthcare administration and general computer literacy.
It differs from MyLab Math, where the task is entering answers. In MyLab IT you do real work inside Excel, Word, Access or PowerPoint, and software grades the file you produce.
How a Grader Project Works
Published course instructions at several colleges describe the same process, and most lost points come from skipping a step in it:
- Download your own copy of the start file from the Grader project screen. Do not open it from the website.
- Open it from inside the Office application and complete the steps.
- Keep the original file name, including the extension. A download can add “[1]” to the name, and one college’s instructions warn that this costs points.
- Use Save, not Save As, so the name does not change.
- Upload the file and submit it for grading.
- Open the Marked Up Report. It shows a red X wherever points were deducted, with detail on each one.
- If resubmission is allowed, fix the original file, save it under the same name and submit again.
Simulations work differently. They run in your browser, and one college’s help page explains that your actions are compared against a list of pre-programmed acceptable ways of completing a task. Common methods are accepted, while an unusual approach may not be recognized.
Why Grader Projects Fail
| Cause | What Goes Wrong | The Fix |
|---|---|---|
| File name changed | The name or extension no longer matches, or “[1]” was added by the download | Restore the exact original name before uploading |
| Save As instead of Save | The saved copy has a different name or location than the upload expects | Use Save from inside the application |
| Typed values instead of formulas | A step that calls for a formula or function is typically checked in the cell, not just the displayed number | Read the wording of each step and use the function it names |
| Formatting done a different way | A result that looks right can miss a step that asks for a specific feature, such as a style | Use the exact feature the step names |
| Skipped or reordered steps | Each step is typically scored separately | Work in order and use the Marked Up Report to find misses |
| Unusual path in a simulation | The action is not on the list of accepted methods | Use the standard method the lesson teaches, and try Reset if it stalls |
Worked Example: Value vs. Formula
A step reads: “In cell B10, calculate the total of the sales figures in B2:B9.”
- The displayed total happens to be 245.50.
- Typing 245.50 into B10 shows the same number, but it is a fixed value.
- Entering =SUM(B2:B9) produces the same number and updates if a figure changes.
- Because the step asks you to calculate, the formula is the answer being asked for.
Pearson does not publish the grader’s internal checks, so treat this as the safe reading of the step. If a step names a function, chart type or style, use exactly that feature. For Excel work beyond a single assignment, see our Excel assignment help and Excel project help pages.
What We Handle
Every assignment we complete is done by a human expert. Here’s why we use human experts instead of AI. For MyLab IT, that covers:
- Excel: formulas, PivotTables, charts and conditional formatting
- Word: styles, tables, mail merge and document formatting
- Access: tables, queries, forms and reports
- PowerPoint: layouts, transitions and design elements
- Simulations, quizzes and skill checks
- Failed submissions: send the file and the Marked Up Report, and if resubmission is allowed we correct and resubmit it
Many business and MIS students take statistics alongside MyLab IT. See our MyStatLab help and statistics homework help. All work is covered by our A/B grade guarantee.
MyLab IT FAQ
Can you fix a Grader project that already failed?
Yes, if your course allows resubmission. Send the submitted file and the Marked Up Report, and we will correct it and resubmit.
Why was my project marked wrong when it looks correct?
The grader checks how the file was built and saved, not just how it looks. Open the Marked Up Report, which shows a red X wherever points were deducted, and compare each one with the step’s wording.
Does the file name really matter?
Yes. Published instructions say to keep the original name, extension included, and to use Save rather than Save As. A download that adds “[1]” to the name can cost points.
What if I don’t have Microsoft Office?
Grader projects are completed in Microsoft 365 applications. Tell us your setup when you contact us and we will explain how we handle it.
Can you complete MyLab IT simulations?
Yes. Simulations are browser-based, and a submitted attempt can be final in some courses, so tell us your course and deadline before starting.
Can you handle an entire MyLab IT course, and how long does it take?
Yes. We take single assignments or the full course. Timing depends on the assignment and your deadline, so include the due date when you request a quote.
Do you guarantee grades on MyLab IT?
Yes. Our A/B grade guarantee covers the work we complete. If we don’t deliver the agreed grade, you get a refund under the terms on that page.
