Why ERAU Worldwide Students Struggle With Math

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is one of the most respected aviation and aerospace institutions in the world. Its Worldwide campus serves more than 23,000 students online and at over 100 locations, the majority at military bases across the United States and globally. ERAU Worldwide holds the #1 ranking for online programs in Military Friendly Schools (2025–26), and for good reason — the program is designed around the demands of active-duty service members, veterans, and working aviation professionals.

But that flexibility doesn’t make the coursework easy. The math and statistics requirements at ERAU are rigorous, and the accelerated 9-week term format means there’s very little room for error. Here’s what makes these courses particularly challenging:

9-Week Compressed Schedule

A full semester of calculus or statistics is squeezed into nine weeks. Weekly modules include homework, discussions, quizzes, and often a StatCrunch or Excel component. Miss one week and you’re behind by two.

Aviation-Specific Math Applications

Courses like MATH 111 and MATH 112 don’t just teach standard pre-calculus and calculus — they apply them to aviation contexts like velocity vectors, runway distance calculations, and centrifugal force problems. Generic tutoring services often can’t keep up.

Multiple Platform Demands

A single ERAU math course might require you to toggle between Canvas for discussions, MyMathLab for homework, and StatCrunch for data analysis reports — all with different interfaces, deadlines, and submission formats.

Military Life Doesn’t Pause for Deadlines

Deployments, TDY orders, shift rotations, and field exercises don’t align with module due dates. Many ERAU students are active-duty personnel managing coursework around unpredictable schedules.

Not Sure Which Math Course You’ll Need?

The math requirements at ERAU depend on your major. Here’s a quick breakdown of the most common Worldwide degree programs and the math courses they require:

ERAU Major Required Math / Stats
Aeronautics (B.S.) MATH 111 → MATH 112 → STAT 211
Aviation Business Administration MATH 111 or MATH 140 → MATH 222
Logistics & Supply Chain Mgmt MATH 111 or MATH 140 → MATH 222
Engineering (Aero, Mech, EE) MATH 241 → MATH 242 → MATH 243
Computational Mathematics MATH 241 → MATH 242 → MATH 243 → MA 345
Safety Management MATH 111 or MATH 140 → STAT 211

All of these tracks start with a math placement assessment. ERAU uses the ALEKS Mathematics Skills Assessment to determine whether you begin in MATH 106 (Basic Algebra), MATH 111 (Pre-Calculus for Aviation), MATH 140 (College Algebra), or qualify to skip ahead into MATH 241. If you’re struggling with the placement exam itself or worried about being placed into a lower-level course, we can help with that too.

Platforms We Work In

ERAU Worldwide courses don’t just live inside Canvas. Each course layers on additional platforms for homework, quizzes, and data analysis. We work directly in all of them — no screenshots, no file uploads, no back-and-forth. We log in and get it done.

MyMathLab

Used in MATH 111 and MATH 112. Homework modules, quizzes, midterms, and finals.

MyStatLab

Used in STAT 211 and MATH 222. Homework, quizzes, cumulative midterm and final exams.

WebAssign

Used in MATH 241 and MATH 242. Cengage-based homework and quiz modules for the calculus sequence.

StatCrunch

Used in STAT 211 and MATH 222. Three StatCrunch reports (bootstrapping, randomization, regression) worth 20% of the grade.

Every ERAU Worldwide course also requires Canvas discussion posts — typically one per module where you solve problems and present your work. These are graded on both math accuracy and presentation quality. We handle those too, using the Canvas equation editor per ERAU requirements.

What a Typical ERAU Math Module Looks Like

If you’re new to ERAU Worldwide or about to start your first math course, here’s what to expect. Each 9-week course is divided into modules (typically 8-9 modules plus a final), and each module generally includes:

Component Details Typical Weight
MyMathLab / MyStatLab Homework Auto-graded problems due weekly. Help features available, but quizzes and exams are timed. 15%
Canvas Discussion Posts Solve a math problem and present it using the equation editor, then respond to a classmate. 8%
MSL Quizzes Timed quizzes within MyMathLab or MyStatLab, typically one per module. 12%
StatCrunch Reports (stats only) Three data analysis reports across the term: sampling, bootstrapping, and regression. 20%
Cumulative Midterm Covers Modules 1–4. Taken in MyMathLab/MyStatLab. One attempt, 2-hour time limit. 20%
Cumulative Final Exam Covers all modules. Same format as midterm — one attempt, 2-hour time limit. 20%

Note: Weights shown are from a typical STAT 211 syllabus. Exact percentages vary by instructor and course, but the structure is consistent across ERAU Worldwide math offerings.

The workload is manageable if you stay on top of it, but the compounding effect of the 9-week format means one bad week can cascade quickly. That’s where most students reach out to us — not because they can’t do the math, but because life got in the way.

Built for Military Schedules

Embry-Riddle Worldwide exists in large part because of the military. The university has offered courses on military bases since 1970 and currently operates at nearly 100 bases globally. Its $250/credit-hour military tuition rate and 10 annual start dates make it one of the most accessible options for active-duty service members and their families.

We built our service around the same reality. A significant portion of our ERAU clients are active-duty military balancing coursework with duties that don’t follow a predictable schedule. Here’s what that looks like in practice:

Linear regression and least squares diagram
  • Deployment or TDY mid-term? We keep your assignments on track while you’re away.
  • Irregular shift schedules? We work around the clock — no office hours to worry about.
  • Transferring bases mid-course? Your coursework doesn’t skip a beat.
  • Using GI Bill or MyCAA benefits? We help you protect that investment by keeping your grades up.
  • Multiple ERAU terms back-to-back? Many clients work with us across several consecutive 9-week sessions.

Embry-Riddle’s own policy states that students won’t face tuition penalties for drops due to deployment. But you still need to pass the course when you’re enrolled. That’s where we come in.

Stationed Overseas? Deployed? On a Tight Rotation?

Frequently Asked Questions

Which Embry-Riddle math courses can FMMC help with?

We support all ERAU Worldwide online math and statistics courses, including MATH 111 (Pre-Calculus for Aviation), MATH 112 (Applied Calculus for Aviation), STAT 211 (Statistics with Aviation Applications), MATH 222 (Business Statistics), MATH 241 (Calculus and Analytic Geometry I), and MATH 242 (Calculus and Analytic Geometry II). If your course isn’t listed here, reach out anyway — we likely cover it.

Do you work directly in MyMathLab and MyStatLab?

Yes. Most ERAU Worldwide math and statistics courses use Pearson’s MyMathLab or MyStatLab integrated through Canvas. We log into your account and complete homework, quizzes, and exams directly in the platform — nothing for you to manage or upload.

Can you help if I’m deployed or on TDY?

Absolutely. A large portion of our ERAU clients are active-duty military managing coursework around deployments, TDY assignments, and shift work. We handle the math so you can focus on your mission. We’ve worked with students in every branch and across multiple time zones.

How do ERAU’s 9-week terms affect your service?

The accelerated 9-week format means assignments come fast and deadlines are tight. Each module typically includes MyMathLab/MyStatLab homework, a Canvas discussion post, and sometimes a StatCrunch report or quiz — all due within a single week. We recommend reaching out as early in the term as possible so we can get ahead of the workload rather than playing catch-up.

Do you handle StatCrunch assignments?

Yes. STAT 211 and MATH 222 at ERAU both require StatCrunch reports alongside MyStatLab homework. These typically include three major reports covering random sampling, bootstrapping/randomization, and regression — collectively worth around 20% of the final grade. We complete both the data analysis and the written report components.

What about WebAssign for MATH 241?

Yes. MATH 241 (Calculus and Analytic Geometry I) at ERAU Worldwide uses Cengage WebAssign for online homework and quizzes, based on Stewart’s Calculus: Early Transcendentals. We work directly in WebAssign and are experienced with the platform’s multi-step problem format and answer entry requirements.

Can you help with Canvas discussion posts?

Yes. Many ERAU courses require weekly Canvas discussion posts where you solve math problems using the Canvas equation editor or upload handwritten/typed solutions. These discussions are graded on both accuracy and participation. We handle the posts and follow ERAU’s formatting expectations.

What grade do you guarantee?

All full-course help comes with our A/B grade guarantee. If we don’t deliver the grade we promise, you get your money back. For partial-course or individual assignment help, we guarantee the quality of each submission.

Is FMMC familiar with ERAU’s course structure?

Yes. We understand ERAU Worldwide’s 9-week module structure, the combination of MyMathLab/MyStatLab homework with Canvas discussions, the midterm and cumulative final exam format (typically 20% of the grade each), and the role of StatCrunch reports in statistics courses. We’ve worked with ERAU students across multiple terms and course codes.

Can you start mid-term if I’ve already fallen behind?

Yes. We can pick up wherever you left off. In a 9-week term, even missing one or two weeks can put you in a difficult position — but the remaining assignments, quizzes, and exams still carry enough weight to recover your grade. The sooner you reach out, the more we can do.

Can you help with the ALEKS math placement exam?

Yes. ERAU uses the ALEKS Mathematics Skills Assessment to determine your starting math course. A higher placement score means you can skip prerequisite courses like MATH 106 and go straight into MATH 111, MATH 140, or even MATH 241 — saving both time and tuition. We can help you prepare for or complete the placement to ensure you start at the right level.
